AVault Review (4.0/5)©: Missing: Since January is an effective and creepy murder mystery that gets you involved by blurring the line between the game and the real world. You’re never really convinced that it’s anything other than a work of fiction, but that won’t keep you from hearing strange noises when you try to go to sleep at night. It’s the subtle establishment and cultivation of The Phoenix that really gives the game its punch. You know that the antagonist isn’t real, but you’ll still be kind of creeped out because you’ll begin to understand him. Worse, you’ll start to believe that there are people like him roaming around, waiting to go off the deep end. There are a couple of hang-ups with the email implementation and a few aggravating mini-games, but overall, Missing keeps you moving forward at a steady pace. If you’re a fan of puzzle games who doesn’t mind a helping of suspense, get a copy of Missing, turn out the lights and try to keep from looking over your shoulder.
