It manages to maintain a consistent level of sophistication and high complexity without sacrificing what really makes strategy games fun. While it`s highly debatable whether or not the additions warranted a full-blown sequel, Europa Universalis II is one of the greatest strategy games on the market today. The balancing act of religion, politics, economy, military, and more is an amazing feat to behold, and even more amazing to experience first hand. Replay value is near infinite, as well; the added features and scope keep the action fresh without destroying what worked so well in the initial title. Fans of the genre will love it, and the hardcore fans of the original will find enough new features to keep them satisfied for even more centuries of world conquest. - Gavin Carter
