AVault Review^©: Return to Castle Wolfenstein definitely succeeds in its goal of bringing out a worthy successor to its revolutionary predecessor. But rather than advancing the genre forward a notch, as many of us hoped, the net effect seems to be looking backward and rekindling a sense of nostalgia. The graphics, audio and multiplayer components are astonishingly good, while the highly competent yet unspectacular single-player gameplay lags a bit behind. Just because this is not "the next big thing" does not mean it is not incredibly enjoyable and worth the rather high price tag it currently commands. So if you are a first-person shooter fan and do not yet own this game, by all means run out and grab a copy -- you will not be disappointed. - Bob Mandel
